Class: pramlintide acetate injection

Supplied in: 15 mcg, 30 mcg, 45 mcg, 60 mcg, 90 mcg, 120 mcg

Action: Slows gastric (stomach) emptying, prevents post-prandial rise in glucoagon (causes the liver to produce sugar), and increases satiety to lower calorie intake.

Timing: take immediately before meals.

Side Effects: : nausea, headache, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, hypoglycemia.

Precautions: Don’t take with renal insufficiency, hepatic insufficiency, allergy, or hypoglycemia unawareness.
